The Spanish Superbike Championship is entering the home straight of the season. This weekend the Estoril circuit hosted the fifth round of the year and Andotrans Team Torrentó returned home with mixed feelings. Sviat Pylypenko had a good performance, but Harry Khouri suffered a crash that will require some time to recover.

As usual on the Portuguese track, the wind was with our Supersport Next Generation riders throughout the days of competition.

In the first race Sviat showed a competitive pace, overtaking several riders and climbing up to 12th position. This was the young Ukrainian’s best result of the season. Meanwhile, on the third lap, in tenth position, Harry suffered a heavy crash and dislocated his shoulder again. Fortunately there were no serious consequences, but his return to competition will depend on how the injury progresses.

In Sunday’s race Sviat Pylypenko again started from 22nd place. However, a contact with another rider caused him to fall on the first lap. The Ukrainian was uninjured but had to retire.

The next ESBK race will be held at Circuito de Navarra on 26th and 27th October. After that there will only be one more round: the following week, on the 2nd and 3rd of November, at Circuito de Jerez.

FERRAN TORRENTÓ
Team Manager

“We came back from Estoril particularly pleased with Sviat’s performance. Despite his youth he continues to work hard and improves his results with each race. He is to be congratulated.

As for Harry, it is not good news when a rider has a crash that prevents him from competing. The good news is that he is not seriously injured and we have a few months to give him a chance to make a full recovery.

It’s not the weekend we wanted, but the team will continue in this direction and we will surely come back stronger for the last two races of the year. Once again I would like to thank all our partners and fans for their support.”
