Andotrans Team Torrentó has finished the third round of the Spanish Superbike Championship. This weekend, the team crossed the border to compete at the Estoril Circuit, in Portugal. After the two races, the assessment is positive, with both riders achieving good results: Harry Khouri has signed two fifth places and Sviat Pylypenko has achieved his best result in the race, with a 17th place.

The two riders in the Supersport Next Generation class started the free practice sessions on Thursday and Friday with a more subdued performance, but after gathering information on track, the whole team worked to make a step forward. In Saturday’s qualifying session, the Australian posted the 14th fastest time and the Ukrainian finished as the 25th fastest rider.

Saturday’s race was one of comebacks. Khouri made up as much as nine positions. First he made another fast start and maintained a podium pace throughout the laps. Pylypenko, on the other hand, had his best race so far. Despite starting from the back of the grid, he made up eight places to finish in the middle of the standings.

Sunday’s race was pretty much the same. The only difference was that Khouri started from the second row of the grid, lost a couple of positions on the first lap, but eventually regained them to move back into the top 5. Pylypenko followed the same pattern as in the first race: a constant pace from start to finish, which helped him to move up seven places.

The next round of the Spanish Superbike Championship will be at home. The Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya will host the competition on the weekend of 27th and 28th July.

With the results we achieved we can confirm that Harry Khouri is consolidating his position among the best drivers in the category and that Sviat Pylypenko continues to make good progress race after race. I am proud of the work done by the whole team. We are going in the right direction and we will be rewarded on the track. We will continue with the same motivation to improve and to finish on the podium.”
